AROMATHERAPY MASSAGE

Aromatherapy massage combines the therapeutic properties of essential oils with a relaxing massage to create the best opportunity for the body to de-stress and heal. Essential oils work through the sense of smell to uplift the mind and balance the emotions. They are also absorbed throught the skin into the blood stream where they work to soother or stimulae many of the body's systems. Each aromatherapy blend is tailored to suit individual needs.

SPORTS MASSAGE

The Human Touch is able to offer specialist sports and therapeutic massages.
Sports massage involves manipulation of the soft tissues of the body such as muscles, using specific techniques such as effleurage and transverse frictions. The different techniques have different aims such as decreasing tension within a muscle or breaking down adhesions.
Sports massages are beneficial to those who regularly engage in activity at all fitness levels but also beneficial to people who have sore muscles from exposure to prolonged postures such as sitting for many hours in front of a computer. Sports massage has many benefits such as improving circulation, increasing lymph flow and promoting muscle relaxation.
Massage is a natural therapy and has many benefits both physical and psychological. Massage works on many levels and is a versatile and effective treatment method for minor injuries, injury prevention and stress relief.

In a complementary role (in conjunction with other therapies) massage can aid recovery as part of its wide ranging benefits.

HATHA YOGA

“ Hatha yoga is a 5,000-year-old philosophy that incorporates slow stretches, breathing and relaxation techniques which result in wonderful physical and emotional benefits.

The whole concept behind Hatha yoga is really pretty basic and some of those aerobic stretches you might see in the newspaper or at your health club are actually based on Hatha yoga stretches. The difference is that Hatha yoga stretches are referred to as "postures" that are performed slowly and gently rather than energetically and repetitively.

As a result, Hatha yoga is an ideal practice for almost everyone, no matter what physical shape they're in. Classes consist of many people with different fitness levels. Some students have neck and back problems, chronic headaches, shoulder or knee injuries. Frequent computer users and desk sitters should know that Hatha yoga is outstanding for releasing physical tension, especially in the head, neck, shoulders and lower back. Doing some stretches at work for the neck, arms and lower back can help reduce aches and pains received while hunched over a keyboard.

A minimal investment of time can bring a variety of benefits including flexibility, increased muscle tone, better posture, reduced PMS, fewer daily aches and pains, more inner peace and a better attitude toward life.”Suzan J. Smith, D.C.,

(Pilates infused yoga). Blending elements of Pilates and Yoga postures, the classes are geared towards building strength and flexibility, through a focus on posture, core stability and body alignment.

Yoga inspired fitness combines traditional yoga postures into fluid, up-tempo and dynamic sequences to music to give you an invigourating but accessible mind body experience. Within the sequences the postures can be modified to suit the strength and flexibility of the groups capabilities.

YOGABUGS
